About Blackfin Sportfishing

Derek and Kingsley were brought together by a shared passion of the ocean, the outdoors, boats and fishing! Meeting as young fishing guides in Haida Gwaii, they developed a friendship spanning the last decade. Both have grown up fishing and boating throughout the Straight of Georgia. Derek has family ties to Bowen Island, and Kingsley to Valdez Island. Kingsley is also the owner/operator of a Commercial Fishing boat The Nerka, travelling the entire Pacific Northwest in search of salmon, tuna and lingcod. Having both spent the last 10 years working up and down the coast at different fishing lodges, some incredible friendships have been made. We have a team of guides ready to provide you with an exceptional service, and memories to last a lifetime.
